Renowned Art Director Milan Passes Away on Ajith’s Film Set in Azerbaijan

The tragic news that renowned Art Director Milan had a fatal heart attack on the set of Ajith Kumar’s “Vidaamuyarchi” in Azerbaijan has just reached the public. After wrapping off filming last night, he reportedly felt fine. When his crew was getting ready to head out to the shooting earlier today, he complained of chest pain and discomfort and was visibly sweating.

Unfortunately, Milan did not make it to the hospital after the crew had secured transportation for him. He was 54 years old and leaves behind a wife and children. When they heard the news, sources suggest that both Ajith Kumar and director Magizh Thirumeni went to the hospital to participate in the ceremonies. It is reported that the body is in a state of preservation until the transportation paperwork to Chennai can be completed, which is expected to take about two days.

Milan Fernanadez started his career with Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’ and went on to work with Ajith in several films including ‘Billa’, ‘Veeram’, ‘Vedalam’, ‘Thunivu’ . The team of Vidaamuyarchi’ including Ajith, Trisha and Regina Cassandra had shot for several days in the Central Asian country.

The upcoming film Kanguva, starring Suriya and directed by Siruthai Siva, has Milan Fernandez, then 54 years old, as its art director. The film has a massive budget, making it one of the most expensive in all of Indian cinema. The whole South Indian cinema industry has united in mourning Milan’s sudden death. RIP!
