Shiva Rajkumar Starrer ‘Ghost’ Haunts Box Office with Impressive Rs 2 Crore Opening

Shiva Rajkumar, fondly known as Shivanna, has struck gold at the box office with his latest release, ‘Ghost,’ an action-packed film that hit cinemas on October 19. The movie, which also features Malayalam star Jayaram and Bollywood veterans Anupam Kher and Prashant Narayanan, has raked in an impressive Rs 2 crore in its initial run.

The film, directed by MG Srinivas, gained substantial traction in Karnataka, especially in the state capital, Bengaluru, where it saw a commendable 58.50% occupancy rate. The city of Shivamogga was not far behind with an occupancy rate of 59.59%. Across morning, afternoon, and evening shows, ‘Ghost’ consistently boasted over 40% occupancy, a testament to its engaging storyline and Shiva Rajkumar’s star power.

‘Ghost’ started as a Kannada film but transcended its regional boundaries to become a pan-Indian project. The filmmakers strategically timed its release during the Dasara festival, aiming to draw audiences from various regions.

Shivanna, who plays a character with a stealthy and fearsome presence, confirmed that a sequel to ‘Ghost’ is already in the works. According to him, the story demanded further exploration, and one installment wouldn’t suffice. The film is unique in that it excludes songs and a traditional heroine, focusing entirely on its gripping narrative.

Additionally, ‘Ghost’ marks the Kannada debut of veteran actor Anupam Kher, adding to the film’s appeal. The movie’s success in its opening days has set a promising tone for its future run in theaters, solidifying Shiva Rajkumar’s position as a bankable star in the Indian film industry.
